BREED 77 To Release Spanish-Language Album
February 12, 2007BREED 77, who originate from Gibraltar (an overseas territory of the United Kingdom),will release a new single, "Look at me Now", on April 23. A brand new Spanish vocal album, "Un Encuentro" ("An Encounter"),will follow on May 7.
The single "Look at me Now" is an epic song in the mould of their U.K. national Top 40 hit "The River", and the digital bundle also contains a never-before-heard "latino-metal" version of the classic CRANBERRIES hit "Zombie", as well as two unique Spanish vocal versions from "Un Encuentro" — "La Ultima Hora" and "Petroleo".
These Spanish renditions cap a huge push by the band to complete this rare album. Re-recording in their native tongue a selection of great tracks from their first three albums, BREED 77 have created a really unique and captivating cultural album which fuses together the Moorish flavour of the Southern Med with their driving melodic hard rock. Following on from their pre-X-mas U.S. airplay success with the hispanic rockers of Northern California, "Un Encuentro" was snapped up early for an exclusive release in the U.S. by dedicated hispanic platform iTunes Latino. The physical album will be exclusively available for the first time in the U.K. on May 7.
To support the campaign for the releases, BREED 77 will be "Getting in the Ring" at the exclusive Metal Hammer March 5 bill (Hammersmith) along with other acts TURISAS, DEATHSTARS and ZICO CHAIN, after which they will head out on an April headline club tour to promote their single and album release.
